Two weeks off, coming soon! Might be going to Circa Survive in Cologne, might see Emarosa in May and will definitely see Glassjaw! Three of my favourite bands in less than two months time, that's just amazing.

I'm in desperate need of pants (they're all totally worn out, I'm just waiting for the first pair to rip up completely) so I went downtown Monday, but I came home with this pretty little dress instead.

I'm putting way too much effort in just a simple shot of a dress, I know haha. I get carried away I suppose. It keeps me from doing the things I should be doing, like homework. You know, productive things. 

I wish it was Friday already. Oh holidays, I love you!

School has been so crazy lately. I went out for two weekends in a row and I kind of neglected homework and going to classes so I'm in the progress of trying to make up for things but yet again, I'm updating my blog instead of sketching haha.

Distraction, it's bittersweet.

Anyway, this is what I did for typography. We had to do this poetry/image/text mash up so yah I came up with this one.

Fortuin is Dutch for "fortune" (wasn't too hard now was it?). The birds are paper cranes, which in Eastern countries are a symbol for luck. It is said that folding a thousand paper cranes will make your wish come true.

I drew 7 cranes and I got what I wanted. Beat that you mofos! :D

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I know mine was pretty awesome. It involved stranding in the middle of nowhere, nocturnal discussions about Pokémon and communism, and lots and lots of Smurf nectar (aka blue vodka lemon).

Mar. 13: Viola Lion

Since Isles & Glaciers' EP 'The Hearts of Lonely People' released a few days ago I can't stop listening to it, seriously. Even though it only has 5 proper songs on it (of which I completely hate Cemetery Weather) it's magic. If you're into post-hardcore and/or anything Jonny Craig does, you should get a copy.

Anyway, we've started working with InDesign at school and we were told to collect 20 pictures and random text for a booklet. I'm going to work with the lyrics to 'The Hearts of Lonely People' and my own pictures, because even though the booklet is merely a technical exercise without any artistic purpose, I'm planning on making a huge effort.

This one's supposed to go with the lyrics to Viola Lion:

I'm a bad blogger, I know. Shame on me. I've been busy lazy lately, so busy lazy that even when I do manage to go out shopping, I come home with nothing but two seasons of Californication and my favourite movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on DVD.
Am I completely twisted if can't help but swoon for the ever-so-charming Hank Moody? I'm actually considering ordering the book God Hates Us All. I mean, how awesome is that? Turning a fictional book into a real one? It appears to be really good as well. Omfg.

And for the sake of having an image in this blog post, here's a picture of one and a half of my works for Mexico week. I wish I had taken more pictures because I think the school peoples have lost them. Hah. Bummer.
