Brand focus: Free People
MUSIC: THE BRONX
MOOD: GUUD
First off, I'd like to thank you all for your kind words on last post! I feel a lot better now, I've had some really nice conversations with friends and my mom (I love my mom!) and honestly, I think I'm rid of my demon (= horrible crush) for good so I'm all ready to move on! Also health related things are getting better. I've been wearing my old insoles until I get an appointment with an orthopedist, and I'm regaining sense in my big toes, yay!
So I've been trying to pick up the things I've been wanting to do, like tidying my room part 237. I went to Ikea today to check out some storage options and omfg every time I go to Ikea I realise I need new everything. The wardrobes are - and I don't say this often - TO DIE FOR. Unfortunately I'm stuck with a poor two door closet, which is packed. So packed that I brought two really big boxes I thought would fit under my bed (which they do, if I lift the bed - dammit!!) to store all the old stuff in.
I've probably mentioned this before, but I rarely throw away clothes. I like to think that one day, if I have children, my daughters will be super happy with all the free vintage stuff! I know I wish my mom would've kept more of her old things, I wore a very old pleated skirt of hers to my graduation party and had so much compliments about it. Le sigh!
Anyway, I got halfway through tidying the crap in my wardrobe when I decided I could use some cozy time on the bed, watching Weeds. Which is an awesome show btw, I'm guessing I'll get through seasons 4 to 7 in a week or two, so if you can recommend me some more shows like Dexter, Mad Men, Californication, Sons of Anarchy, True Blood etc etc... Bring it on!
Now on to the purpose of this post: Back in the days, when I used to work at Urban Outfitters, I came across this brand, Free People. The few items the Antwerp store carried were never really my thing - I remember this embellished frock with peacocks on it or something alike? Those dresses flew out of the racks, which left all of us baffled. However, upon checking their website, I immediately changed my opinion.
Honestly, you guys. Does it get any better than this? I don't even like brown nor gold yet I am utterly drawn to everything you can see in these photos.
The downside to this all? Shipping to Europe is $35. Customs will snoop in your packages and charge you with all sorts of taxes and duties. WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A EUROPEAN STORE?
Seriously I would shop so hard their serves would go down. I even considered getting that feather maxi skirt, with the $35 shipping and the possible 20% tax which would make it around €80, which is a bit nuts. But to all you American shoppers: BOO! I'm jealous!
PS: Just FIY, this is (unfortunately, haha) not a sponsored post, I'm genuinely this enthusiastic about the brand.
Have a great week, lovelies!

Edit: As of August 23, I am affiliated with Free People, however I don't get free stuff (bummer right!!!! haha). Just thought I'd let you know because I srsly value honesty concerning the perks of blogging.

I loove freepeople. And I wish I could be like you and keep all my clothes - but I am so short on space in my closet, and for the sake of my roommates, I try to clean out my closet every season or so. But there are definitely some pieces I know I'll keep forever, so hopefully those can be passed down

Hey there! Thanks for taking the time to comment. If you'd like to ask a question, be sure to leave an e-mail address or whatevz so I can get back to you, because otherwise I'll just get all awkward and forget to reply, which comes off rather shitty, but I swear I'm actually a pretty okay person in real life. Promise!
