Jun. 27: Pretend. Relive. Regret.

MUSIC: THE NEW EMAROSA ALBUM OMGWTF
MOOD: FLIPPIN' HAWT

Jesus it must be 30+°C outside. I made a decision to stay inside today, because going out would probably cause me to dehydrate within 10 minutes. And all the sweaty, smelly people would just get on my nerves anyway haha.

Staying in for the day did give me the time to show you the outfit I've been living in for the past few days. I fell in love with this high waist, floor length skirt as soon as I saw it at H&M.

Oh and as you might be able to tell from the pic above, my hairs dead ends have been chopped off! Here's a proper pic:

I finally grew the balls to go for straight bangs instead of slanted, and even though it took me some time to get used to, I really like it now! Most people go "it's... different" and give me a oh-what-have-you-done?? look, haha.

For the fans of old Dance Gavin Dance/Jonny Craig, the new Emarosa album has leaked! Pretend.Relive.Regret is my favourite song so far (still gotta listen to half of the album, I'm kind of excited haha.)

Next weekend I'll (probably) be heading to Bonn for Rheinkultur to see Alexisonfire. Lucky me, I have a friend who lives there so I can't only go there for free (the festival is free), I can also stay there for free, haha! It'll be one hell of a train ride though, I'm most definitely bring a book or two. Also it's gonna be killer hot according to the weather channel (THIRTY TWO MOTHERFUCKING DEGREES CELSIUS) so I hope those damn trains got air conditioning and people use their deodorants as they should.

Jun. 22: Polish galore.

MUSIC: EVERY TIME I DIE
MOOD: BORED

I was tidying my room a bit so I thought it would be fun to show you my nail polishes. People often ask me what brand they are, and as you can tell from the pictures, it's mainly Essence and Catrice, two really cheap brands available at the Dutch store Kruidvat, but since they're both German brands I assume they're also for sale in many German or even Austrian drugstores.

Neutrals! I barely ever wear light colours though, and the beige-y colour in the back looks awful with my skintone haha. It's also a matte polish, which I think looks awful.

Pinks, not so much of a fan as you can tell.

Reds, more my cup of tea. The coral on the left is going on my nails after I'm done posting this haha. The one on the far right is very dark and leans more towards black than anything else but it's my all time favourite. Unfortunately they don't sell it anymore :/
Third from the left is my favourite polish for my toes.

Blues, purple and black. The 'Show your feet' one is really dark blue with a slight shimmer, not just black like the picture would make you believe.

End of random post!

MUSIC: EVERY TIME I DIE
MOOD: OK

I'm very much looking forward to Every Time I Die's concert, September 26. I'm secretly hoping they'll play around midnight because the 27th is my birthday, but alas, Terror is headlining so I think I will be hanging at the merch stands the minute I'm turning the big 20 haha.

Every Time I Die - Wanderlust

Oh and, VACAY HAS STARTED! Yesterday was Philosophy exam and according to my calculations, I should have 30%. Oops. This is the biggest disaster since the Year 9 Chemistry exam. So I might have to retake the exam in August. Bummer.

In the meantime, I'll have plenty of shit to do.

  • Tidy my room
  • Buy (and transform with some paint if necessary) a little cupboard to put my tv on
  • Clean out wardrobe
  • Adjust clothes that are too big for me
  • Draw and paint
  • Hang out with friends
  • DIY a skirt or a dress
  • Read a bunch of books
  • Make new layout for blog (sorry to those who like this one haha)
  • Make shitload of pictures!

Also I found this cute little necklace in one of my drawers.

I need a new chain for this pendant because when I put it on it reaches down to my bellybutton.
A bit too much if you ask me.

Jun. 11: my achromatic, post-traumatic baby

MUSIC: DEAD AND DIVINE
MOOD: TIRED

Kicking off with this awesome t-shirt I got from H&M's men department. I've been digging sugar skulls ever since seeing ¡Que Viva Mexico! for a school assignment, so this tee was bound to be mine haha.

After seeing them at Rockfest, I really got into Dead and Divine, especially this song 'Teeth'. If you're into metalcore, or post-hardcore really, you should check it out.

So, what have I been doing lately? Studying for the mother of all boring subjects, Art History. Yesterday was such a burden, I couldn't stay focused for longer than two minutes, and at about 2 AM I decided to roam my closet and try on some shoes.
In case I never told you, I have a lot of shoes I barely ever wear.

I slept for a bit over 4 hours, which is not too bad compared to the two hours the night before Literature exam. Anyway, the exam this morning went okay (nothing too fancy) so I decided to take a little break from studying and hard work and shit (hahahaha) and go for some shopping.

I can't seem to resist nail polishes in whacky colours.

As much as I hate this picture (sorry guys), is exactly how much I love this necklace. I have been waiting for this one to get in stores for ages, so thank you H&M for finally stocking it!

I decided to jump on the bright-red-lipstick-trend bandwagon. It's a fiery red in real life, not so pinky and raspberry. The first lipstick I got was raspberry and granny-like however, so I had to go back to the store and return it for the colour I assumed I was buying.

I also got me a basic white tank top which has the most flattering cut, surprisingly from H&M Divided for €6,95. But that's not really worth a picture haha.

Jun. 7: I know I can't escape you

MUSIC: JONNY CRAIG
MOOD: MELANCHOLIC
Procrastination.

I'm a true expert in the field. I knew exams were coming but somehow they snuck up on me and caught me by surprise. Luckily, Literature went fine today. 10 minutes of talking about Lolita, Camus' existentialism, Houellebecq's dirty mind and I was done. Superb!

I've been living in my blue maxi dress for the past few days, watching Californication and enjoying the lovely David Duchovny (for a guy almost turning 50 he's quite alright).
Shitty Photobooth pictures ftw!

So as I was listening to Jonny Craig's I'm Jonny Craig Bitch and I Drive in Reverse!, I couldn't help but think of last summer. Life seemed so much easier back then, I'd go to college, everything would be okay. And now I'm right where I was two years ago. No plans for the future, whatsoever.
Except for the traveling, which I still want to do even though my faith in hot foreign guys has been smashed to the ground (hahaha).

Growing up blows. In September I will turn 20, and I'm really not looking forward to it. I wish I could have stayed 17 for a while longer. Which brings me to a whole other kids-should-stay-kids topic, but no, I won't get into that right now haha.
No, I'll just sulk in melancholy. Or watch 500 Days of Summer for the 436.894th time.
